How to Use Video on Instagram

Instagram has evolved over the years since its launch in 2010 but remains grounded in visual content. Originally, it was used for photographs only and only in a 1:1 aspect ratio. Today, Instagram has moved beyond hashtags and filters to include a number of avenues to use video on the platform.

Instagram launched the capability to post 15-second videos in 2013. In 2015, Instagram added support for widescreen videos and then in 2016 Instagram increased the 15-second video limit to 60 seconds. Most recently, albums were introduced in 2017, which allow up to 10 minutes of video to be shared in one post. In addition to posting videos, Instagram also has a feature called Stories. Instagram stories are a vertical format, time-sensitive sharing style in which content expires after 24 hours. (Wikipedia)
